Meiko UK has scooped double honours in the 2019 Caterer's Product Excellence Awards.

Its M-iClean US Glasswasher with integral GiO reverse osmosis water treatment won both the Warewashing category and then the Winner of Winners (Equipment) award, making the M-iClean US with integral GiO reverse osmosis water treatment the most innovative equipment product of 2019.

"The judges were looking at the energy and water usage, functionality, quality of results and speed of the equipment in this category. It was an exciting one to judge with a lot of new kit on the market," said The Caterer's Products & Suppliers Editor, Lisa Jenkins.

"After a lot of deliberation, the win went to Meiko’s MiClean US with GiO Reverse Osmosis – producing exceptional results in glass washing."

The Caterer magazine is the leading weekly publication for the UK catering industry.

Publishing online as well as print, Caterer's Product Excellence Awards recognise excellence and innovation in food, drink and equipment products within the hospitality sector.

“It’s an honour to be recognised by a prestigious panel of awards judges," says Meiko UK MD Paul Anderson. "Meiko's engineering and design expertise has taken the humblest of dishwashing products and transformed it into a highly sustainable, user-friendly and labour-saving tool for caterers. And, thanks to the integral reverse osmosis water treatment, spotless wash results are guaranteed every time!"

The judging panel includes a cross section of the industry, from foodservice consultants, catering equipment distributors, contract caterers, hoteliers, care home operators, chefs and restaurateurs. A supplement of all the winners and their products will be published in the 20 December issue.
